Thats what im thinking cause in the fish world that happens all the times esp. Guppies! i swear they seem to be popping frys out reguardless!

But who knows i guess we will see in the long run if this theory holds up!

parthogenisis is real and occurs with many animals. before announcing it im sure they have done some work to prove it first
 
Not surprising but very exciting. Parthenogenesis is fairly well documented in the herp world. Several lizard species and a few snake species are limited to it. It has also been documented in Crotalus and Agkistrodon species as well. It makes sense that a potentially insular species like boas could have this adaptation. Whenever a species lives in an environment that is potentially self limiting for coming in contact with mates, this has an adaptive advantage.
