Im looking into putting an acrylic viewing window in a boathouse in the future. Need help as I don't see anything similar on the net except aquarium viewing areas that are below the waterline. Not sure how thick it would need to be as it is a pond/small lake and can't calculate how much water pressure would be on it. Anyone know of something like this that has been done and by who. Estimated cost as I'm sure it wouldn't be cheap. Thinking of an area of 12ft wide x 6ft tall.

Aquarena Springs in San Marcos, Texas has a boat as you described. I would guess pressure would based on the weight of the boat(and people) plus the size of the glass.

....are we talking about a boathouse or a house boat?

I'm guessing something like this

I think he’s referring to a boathouse. Little covered slip beside the lake. To do so I would make an acrylic viewing box similar to what you see for reef systems. Make it from 3/4” acrylic, 96x48 maybe 12” tall. Will give you a good view

You can calculate the pressure it’s a function of depth and the viewing window area only. The size of the waterbody does not matter.

The boathouse would be on land a houseboat on water... So it would be on land and the basement would be the viewing area. I guess the depth would not be more then 8ft from the waterline.
