A couple of months back I got a Gulper (asterophysus batrachus). He's about 4".
Not exactly shy, but definitely not an outgoing catfish, swims around at night hunting, but during the day he usually stays in the same corner of the tank, behind a clay pot.
Still refusing to eat anything but feeders, he doesn't really get the thing with tongs, just gets spooked, and doesn't show any interest to anything that falls in front of his mouth, yet.
Overall a very enjoyable fish though, I'm hoping he will become more outgoing when he gets larger, thinking of adding a couple more of these guys, I hear they do better in groups, less spooked etc.
Anyways this thread will contain updates of Bob, keeping track of growth, behavioral changes and more, of course with pics on a regular basis.
