I'm taking a look at bocourti and pearsi as a possible single specimen wet pet in a 75 gallon.

Anyway, my questions are:

1. How fast does each species grow?
2. How fast is the growth compared to a midas?
3. Which is the most owner-responsive or are they equal.
4. Which gets bigger? I'm thinking the pearsi.
5. Which is more rare?

I have a 12" male bocourti in my community 180, very beautiful and semi responsive, not a glassbanger, super appetite, fairly peaceful, . I got mine at 10" wild caught from Rapps, he has grown 2" and gotten very thick in a few months. I thought about putting him solo in a 75show but beleive hed be cramped, especially maxing out at 16"

Ive got a beautiful 16" Pearsei which is in a 6x4x2 i wouldnt keep one in a 75gal, its a very beautiful fish and very peaceful.

I also have a pair of wild 3" bocourti, they have much better colouration and make a nicer fish when adult IMO. But they are both a nice fish. I definatel wouldnt keep either species in a 75gal for life.

ive got a wild bocourti from the same batch from rapps as shayne about 11" in my 125 with severums

also have a wild pair around 4"

mine likes to swim alot dont think it would be happy in a 4 ft tank for life but you never know a 120 would deffinitely be better than a 75 or 90

I ended up getting 5 bocourti from Ken Davis yesterday. They look pretty good, but are only 2-2.5 inches so kinda soon to tell. Thing is, I've never gotten a large fish that I kept. All the fish I've kept are ones I got when small, kept the one I liked best and raised him up to adult. So I think I'll enjoy this experience.
