I have 1 in my 180 gallon community tank. About 10" in size sex unknown. The fish does really well on a staple diet of various pellet foods and peas. He/she gets along with everything as long as it is not simular in shape. I can't keep any Vieja type fish with it in the same tank. It was ok while the vieja pictured was small but once it got bigger in size I had to remove it since the Boccourti would chase it every time the blackbelt came out from behind the driftwood. Now I'm keeping it with a small 7" Orino P-bass a breeding pair of cutteri's and a small beani. No fighting chasing or flaring the gills at any other fish. The boccourti will hit the glass though and try to bite the finger if I put it against the glass of the tank.
they get to about 12-13", they are supposed to be pretty laid back compared to some sp. they need a 120G+ tank. they are herbivore/omnivore, they can live in the usual cichlid conditions... clean water and a varied diet.
