Hi Guys, got something I have not seen before and need a second opinion. This BP is in a 400 litre tank and all the tests show fine. It first showed as a whitish patch (no fungus) and within a few days the scales fell off. No blood o redness. As you can see the scales are missing and the overall colour is faded quite a bit (I am guessing from stress.) The fish seems OK apart from hiding a bit. This has been like this a few weeks now.

I think it was possibly body rot and now the scales just need to grow back. Caused maybe by a scrape which got infected? I used a baterial med called Myxazin by brush application as a cure.

What do you think? Do I just leave her now or should further action be taken?

There is no heater they can come into contact with. I use a declorinator with stress coat in already. It isn't fungus as it is not furry, the skin is just colourless as it has no scales.

ok, but what ever it is, the fish is wide open to infection at this time, someone will see this and tell you what it is later i hope,if not i would bath it in m blue

Thanks for the replies so far. I don;t think i need to treat for the original cause anymore and I am sure it is long gone. I just am more concerned as fish n chips said she is open to infection now.. I am also interested in what it is.

That picture is actually about a week old. The area looks a bit cleaner and her colour is a lot better. I thought it was better to show a picture from when it was worse so you got a better idea. I will see if I can get a new one so you can see the current situation.

That was easier than I thought. Here is a new picture, as you can see she looks better and her colour is much deeper.
