OK I know these arent MONSTERS but...

Boesemani Rainbows would be great for my 30 gallon, but will they be ok with rumy nosed tetras too?

I have a 90 set up with JD, GT, and FM and want to go with a different theme for this 30. Had GBR's in there but they have all passed on. 3 rummy nosed tetras left and I wana go from there.

2 Amazon swords, some drift wood and a couple flat rocks

Other choice is to go with a pair of Red Jewels only
tetras would have to be moved of course

What d'you think?

If you keep the pH around 6.5 they should do okay but the rainbowfish may eat the rummynose. Both species do best in groups of at least 5.

They will do good with eachother. i have kept them together for years in the past. The rumynoses where 2 inch and boesemani's where somewhere between 5 and 6 inch. But i think a 30 G is a bit small for a group of fullgrown boesemani's.

I have a 30g sitting right in front of me and just eyeing it I don't think it would be too small (assuming it's a standard 30), but it would be pushing it a bit.
Personally I wouldn't, but I like my fish to have lots of room.

I have had rainbows eat rummynose.

Bosmani included.
