bogwood tanin question.... ??

Some bogwood I ordered is late , which is delaying my tank set up....I always prefer to soak the wood and get as much of the tanin out as possible, this normally takes around a week.

Are there any quicker ways, or just anything to speed it up??

warmer water... keep on changing it. It might not make much difference to your tank depending on the ratio, and it's not a bad thing and will come out eventually with waterchanges anyway.

i have the best way lol. go to a local river and find some pieces. i even got some that i liked and put it in our local river. while im doing that i like to leave opra house nets everywhere and come back to millions of yabbies to feed my barras and whatever will eat them. i even catch wild guppies. i have thousnands of guppies in my pond. i catch bream in there to lol. nice way to get your drift wood

shame tho huh? everywhere else in the world you can help yourself, but not here!!

boiling definately speeds it up. If you dont have pot big enough hot water soaking it is definately quicker.

Hi, Iv'e got a lot of tanins in tank, timber now there a few months and still producing colour. Are there any other ways, someone sugested puregen or something?

a lot depends on the size of the bogwood for example i have some extra large pieces of bogwood in my tank,i soaked the wood,changing the water every couple of days for about a year,put them in my tank and 11 months later still getting tannins out of them,but i have grown to like the stained water,or i have convinced myself it looks great anyway
