I bought a piece last week, let it soak for a few days changing the discoloured water regularly. Impatient me put it in the tank a bit too soon and of course the waters turned a pale yellow. It looks alright actually, a proper amazon set up! I do 2 x 30% partials a week. How long do you reckon before i'll get my clear water back? Is there anything i can put in to speed the process up?

It is just leaving the tannins. It will stop eventually but it may take some time.

you can add carbon to your filter to remove the color, but tannins are beneficial to many fish. and your fish would be better off if you do one 80%-90% weekly water change as opposed to your current schedule.
I've had wood leach tannins for up to a year. I like the effect on the viewing and the fish so I add catappa leaves to my cory tank.
