Boiled Wood, the tannins

I boiled some wood to kill the bacteria on it, because it was full of tannins it made the water a beautiful amber color. Because the water is boiled do you think it is safe to put it in my tank?

It's safe but, why add it to the tank? If the wood was green (fresh), the boiled water also contains simple sugars from the sap that can cause a bacterial and/or algae bloom in your tank.

I wouldn't add it all at once.
