Bolivian Rams

I just recently tryied a couple of bolivian rams. i like them. i was wondering about the yellow on the belley. how old before the yellow shows. my rams show next to none of the yellow i see them with in pic. my rams are below. any info would be great!

hey man,

I used to keep Microgeophagus altispinosa (Bolivian Rams) and the yellow showed up on my fish as soon as they settles into he tank. I did pick out the dominant fish in the holding tank and they were already showing good colors. They formed a pair and then proceeded to brutalize one of my angels (my favorite black lace veil tail), and the other rams. They ate the neons in my tank too.
