Bolt cat update

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
The first one looks like a bolt with sweet colors but to me the second one looks like a crazy cool looking giraffe/bolt cat hybrid.

I see what you are saying :) but they are both bolts with identical body structure. The photo makes the last one look unusual and vaguely resemble a giraffe catfish esp. in the head shape.

IDK why the difference. It is mostly in the markings. Perhaps geographic variants, or gender, or maybe this is normal. IDK enough about these cats.

Mine have darken up significantly too.

I'd expect a fish, a bolt too, to get paler with stress.

A terrible quality but one of my bolts can be seen here (several months ago)

It was more active then (younger?). That was 240 gal. Now it is ~50-50 in a 4500 gal. IDK about nights, never observed.

How aggressive are they towards other pims like p. Blochi or pictus?

Pictus IDK. In 4500 gal I have two bolts (~6") and half a dozen blochii (8"-10"), six vultures (1'+), ten suncats (~10"), and a whole bunch of other cats, ~20 kinds in total. Never witnessed any problems. Never any damage on the bolts.

Whats their temperament ??
Kind of blochii / pictus like but less sociable, so far...
