The bottom of my 720G will require a patch to cover a previous hole, and crack. The flat surface was not smooth before, thus i have sanded it with 80 Grit sand paper to smooth it out, though now it will certainly not be flat.

The piece of acrylic that I am going to use is as a patch is 6"x6". Since the area that I am bonding the patch to is uneven - should I think I should be using WeldOn #16. Thoughts?

I believe I also read somewhere that if you small pieces of acrylic, you can melt them in the WeldOn #16 solvent - Perhaps this might strengthen the unven portion?

Thanks,

Plum

I would go with a lot of weldon 16. i think you will be ok.

That is what I am hoping. Trying to get Weld-On # 40 is quite a task here in Canada. They want me to order a case....

The 16 should work. I would just use alot more than needed and put some weight on top of the patch as it dries. So that it melts down evenly as it bonds. Thats what most plastic cements do they melt the 2 parts together and then the solvent evaporates.
