i need to find some sort of glue/solvent.

i want something very strong and that melts the acrylic well as the joints im going to be doing wont be the best, so it needs to be heavey duty stuff.

im makeing a fsb filter from clear what i think is acrylic tube, the pvc cement i tryed dident even touch it.

anyone know were to get some and whats the best stuff to use?

im in the uk.

haveing problems finding it here in the uk. ill have to see if i can get some sent over to me from the us. thanks mate.

I have to tell you with the #16, it is like a runny silicone, hard to keep a clean job, you can use #4 solvent, it will weld the acrylic but its fast acting so test a few pieces first to get the idea how fast. If you dont mind a thicker solvent and are using it for 3/4 or thicker, you can attemp the #40 like the professionals use. The # 16 I have also found to leave bubbles after it dries, it is good to use as a filler though.

any ideas of a product i can use in the uk?

its going to take ages to get me some weldon over here.
cheers.

The tube is propably not acrylic, SHARP TOOTH. Weld-on or other products, likewise, will not work. In the U.S. one can not buy weld-on at the store, like Home Depot, you must go to a specialty shop like an acrylic manufacturing shop. Not only will they have acrylic sheet and glue/solvents, but they may also have tubes and rods. :grinyes:

ive managed to do the job, i got some glue to do the job.

heres what i built. works great, wouldent be any better if ide bought one.

thanks people.
