Is it okay to use bones as tank decor?

I have a bunch of deer and cow vertebrae and a few partial bobcat skulls (all cleaned and have been boiled a few times), that I thought would 1.) look really neat mixed in amongst the tank plants and rocks. And 2.) provide good hiding spots for my juvenile crayfish to hide in.

But I don't know if the bones will cause an issue(s) to the tank water (or anything else)?

alot of people actually do this. the only thing is i think calcium can become a problem if water changes arnt done. if you do it post pics(exspecially of the bob cat skulls)

Well, I do regular water changes so hopefully I won't have an issue. Off hand though, what does the calcium do if you don't do water changes?

Don't worry, I'll post pics. I'm just gathering up more useable rocks and purchasing some different kind of plants first. I've really gotten tired of Petco's plastic decor in my tanks, I need a change in appearance lol

don't see any harm in it. as long as they are boiled. as above said, calcium might be a problem

I don't know what harm calcium does, i do know however it will help crays grow stronger shells and such. but it can also leave calcium deposits like saltwater tanks do with salt wherever something gets wet.

Oh and i think it buffers pH.
