Bonsai Texas Temperature?

Hello

Picked this guy up on the weekend.

Since it's a Bonsai Texas Hybrid, should I keep the tank temp in the Flowerhorn range of 80–85°F or the Texas cichlid range of 70-75°F?

Haha thats a funny looking fish. I keep my cichlids around 79 to 82 degrees

Mine are all at 82. I'll bet they'd be happy within the 79-82 already mentioned.

Yeah, he's pretty round like a beach ball... Interested to see him grow out.

Ok, so treat as a tropical rather than a sub tropical Texas.

He's about 2.5" all around... I'm hoping he becomes a mini-monster!

A little update... Ignore the fish in his mouth. Any idea what would cause his cheek to swell like that?
