Started reading this book. Seems very sensible and logical. It actually recommends against owning rays unless one has seriously considered the implications. I don't own any rays, but it certainly has given me some insight into the respect these awesome animals command.

Author is Richard Ross MD

that is the first book i read its been around longer than the internet

im sorry to say the days of books is done you can find out more up to date info on any animal with 5 mins of looking on the net and you can ask ?s on the net something you cant get from a book

yes the book is perhaps a bit outdated but it is a good starting point and I also have this book plus 2 others and at least you can read up in books and get a good idea of what your getting into then you can start research on the internet.

Most of the books give wrong tank sizes

Which should be the good starting point if you used the tank sizes stated in them book a new ray keeper will be shocked how often they need to up grade

But you are right its a good point to start

If anyone would like to read said book above, I could share mine with them. :-)

Great suggestion! I also recommend your local library. It's free!
