There are basicly 2 books 1 the aqualog book shown above pricey but great visual reference. The second is an old out of print TFH book titled Jurassic fish.

I have to say that I'm usually a book fan when it comes to research, (and have the Jurassic Fish book) however I've learned more about their care, compatibility, species identification, feeding, breeding, distribution, sexing, (I could go on and on here) from the folks on this forum than all other print sources combined. :headbang2

Truly, there is something new to be learned here everyday.

The "Jurassic Fishes" book... a MUST for any hobbyist keeping big oddball monster fishes. A bible almost, I would call it. :) Considering the fact that it was published/released back in 1994 by TFH (originally published by Japanese, under the name "Ancient Fish" in 1992), it's still a very good well detailed solid source of information/reference, to this date, now! Not just only on bichirs, but on many other species as well!
