Hi I have been keeping freshwater for along long time and would like to get some background in marine tanks. I have no plans on setting one up anytime soon, but would like to learn the science of marine tank. Can anyone recommend any good books they used to get started and further their understanding. Thanks

You have everything you would like to know at your fingertips, just search around online and research the net is full of useful info. as well as the SW section here and many other sites.

so do i
i sleep with it under my pillow :D

thanks for the recommendation. Is there a big difference between the 1998 soft cover vs the 2008 hard cover other then price?

just the years alon i think would make a difference. lemme check which one i have have...

alot has changed in 10 years of fish keeping. i have the '98 softcover, but i still swear by it.. if it's within your means i would pick up the newer one.. if they have an '08 paperback, get that one

I think I am going to order the book tomorrow. Did you ever get a chance to compare the two?

i love most if not all of the TFH/microcosm books. advanced aquarium techniques, scott W michael's reef fish series, the coral book, ultimate aquariums, reef secrets, more... they all look great in a row on the bookshelf. i think i need more shelves. :D
