There is a book all about loaches that are pretty good. Don Konkel's cichlids of Central America is pretty good. Tank busters is also an amusing book.

I like Catfish in the Aquarium as (Dr Carl Ferraris, Tetra) as well as it gives a lot of first hand accounts in finding specimens in natural habitats.
