books ?

can anyone recomend any books about monster fish i am interested in bichirs and oscars particularly, but would like to read just about anything. my lfs has the aqualog on polyipterus but it's $90 the only books i have now are jurasic fish by tfh and a handfull of "how to raise oscar" books. thanks

Jurassic fish and the aqualog picture book about the only books out there dealing with bichirs of the two Jurrasic fish has more information for the hobbyist-Anne
 
I agree with Anne. Of the two, the Jurassic Fishes book has the most useful information regarding bichir keeping but there are numerous inaccuracies in their bichir identification (especially the picture labels). The Aqualog Polypterus book has more pictures of the various species and is more authoritative as far as identification (though I tend to disagree with Frank Schaefer when he elevates a number of subspecies to species level).
