hey datnoid enthusiast..
there are so many datnoid lovers here in MFK... i still haven't found myself interested in the specimen.. can u guys fill me in...?? i can research but would love to hear personal opinions from datnoid owners... wat's special about these fish?? compared to everything else: pbass, polypterus, arowana, pike cichlids, armatus and puffers...

don't take this the wrong way: i'm trying to have a collection of monster fish, but this fish i've never really considered yet!!!

Datnoid addict here, no offense taken.

The moment I saw Dats for the first time, I fell in love with it. It didn't take much time or others opinion for me to love Dats, I don't know why.

Maybe different monster keepers just have different taste in these I think?

But to answer your question ;)
IMO, I love Dats because I love to watch them the way they eat. the way they behave when they're fighting over food. and basically the way they look, tiger stripes, very fierce-looking dorsals, massive mouth. And most of all, they are very challenging to take care of.

That's all I can say :D

thank you.. very well appreciated reply... i guess i need to see them in person.. i might youtube them later when i get home since i can't access to that site here at work.. but they're the monster thats "probably" not gonna suit my taste... but never say NEVER...

Well for me its the way they look, act with there own kind, eat, etc.... I'm almost at the point where thats all i keep and it will probably stay that way, just need to move acouple more fish.

3 or more is best because if you have 2 one will pick on the other one. 3 or more spreads it out. The biggest is the STs and the second is the ITs....NTT third and ATs fourth. Look for them big because once they hit about 12inches it takes along time to get them bigger. But so you know the bigger the more it is going to cost you. Hope you live in the cali end of the US cause thats where most of the big guys are at the moment.
