My Brandti just stays in 1 corner all day,he does move when i feed him or when he gets spooked, but thats it.But at nite (when the room is dark)he swims around exploring his tank(this has gotten to be a bit boreing)I love this fish and have no plans on getting rid of him,my question is are there any other Brandti owners out there that have the same problem with thier fish?? :swear:

Well my Elongatus was kinda boring for awhile as he did like to just sit around in a corner. I heard some where that a good tip in trying to watch Eels be more active was to put a black light on the tank, and it tricks them into thinking its dark. That has worked with my Elong, might want to give it a try.

yea my brandti is pretty boring also. he wont even go right after feeders when i throw them in, it takes a few hours so i rarely get to see him attack. :swear:

Feed every other day at the same time and it might feed more aggressively.

Yes exactly,my Brandti does the same exact thing, but it is kinda funny because his tank is right next to my bed and i hear him smashing into the glass, and his ornaments while chasing his prey. Then i find 5-6 fish heads floating at the top of the tank. :woot:

try dimming the lights over the tank. I did this by placing strips of electrical tape between the glass and the strip light allowing only about a quater of the light through. Took a few days but he became more active. Then after a few weeks I peeled one or two strips off...few weeks later did it again, until there was no tape left. Worked for me with my serra. Good luck.

well most serras will do this. how long have you had him? he is getting usta being in the tank probly. mostlikely he is a wild fish and hasnt bin in captivity to long so he is just gettin usta being in the tank. some people put there serras in a tank and they are active and agressive in 5 minutes and some people have to wait 6 or more months for them to come out of there shell

its good to see this thread because i have one on order
