I have a juruense... it pretty much doesnt move... its startin to piss me off... it doesnt really eat... it used to eat a gold fish every couple nights... but no movement during the day and no dead food.
I dunno if i can be assed to feed live foods all the time...
would I be better off with a tigrinus? are they more active? do they eat dead food?

Hi bro,

It used to eat dead fish in my tank, no problem. Strange how it doesnt eat in your tank as i was an eating machine in mine.
A tig is kinda the same, a friend had one. I did notice that fasciatums became more active when they passed the 40cm range. Maybe that will happen with the jur.

Does it swim when the lights are off?

yea it cruises occasionally... some nights it will like turn around swim a circle n sit back in it place... very rarely itll go nuts tryin to eat all the snakeheads but realize they dont fit...

but no movement at all duing lights on...

add a power head mabye they both like alot of current in there water

yea see what u sayin i have a sun catfish does the same that your cat does. but mine cat says in a cave. cant wait till it out grows it

Try keeping it in a tank by itself. I have a tank with a rtc, rtsxtsn, marble and a vulture cat and it sucks also, NO ACTION  I just seperated a few of them and already they are much more active. In the past and present my favorite and most active fish are/were kept alone.

Just an idea......

Hmm thats an interesting theory... but i doubt itll work. cuz when i just got it there was nothing in my 310 gal except the catfish and a sturgeon... with a bunch of goldfish... even then he wudnt move...
there are already 2 powerheads in the tank and theres plenty of water flow...
