Boring as in boring looking... Im shocked at how much this fish eats and how quickly its grown. Probably 2" in two weeks thus far. Here are full tank shots and up close and personal:
Husbandry: pH is 8.0, temp is 70-75 depending on time of day. There is no heater and in Texas....the temp varies greatly (today the low was 47 and the high was 81). It eats raw market shrimp and earthworms 5 days per week. I havent tried to add any other fish other than a pleco, so it is a loner all the way!
Nope, the tanks are right next to one another: 1st is the tig, 2nd is the yarelli. The photo shows the plants that were originally in there and moved to my 240g across the room. Good memory though!
well, in regards to that, you sir have the coolest fish room that i've seen. I just saw your gallery and im in awe. It's good that you have the fish by themselves, but can they be kept with other species? (the tig and the yarelli) by the way, the temensis tank makes my top 5 tanks of all time. it's an unofficial poll, but nonetheless, it's a pissa tank.
Thanks for the kind words. This is my favorite fishroom Ive had as well-Ive had three in three different houses. The tig can be housed with dats, rays, aros, etc. The yarelli.......not so much unless the tank is huge. Rumor has it that they bite their neighbors and they have some serious teeth.
Nope-the tank is too small in my opinion. I thought about putting it in my 400 with the temensis-but he would never get food with that crew!. I have a leichardti aro in my 240 that may be a better tankmate in a year or so. Im fine with have a couple tanks with lone fish in them. I have trouble with my obsessive compulsive nature and community tanks....they have to be perfect without any aggression......and that rarely occurs.
Geez, you sir have some awesome tankz setup there! Rock on!! So you have yarelli eh? Nice!! You thinkin of just keepin it to just one Bararius...or are you gonna try and do suchus and Bagarius bagarius also? In their own tankz of course..haha. I have been trying to find suchus for quite a while now...but alas, have been unsuccessful.
