Are you referring to those creamy/yellow bulbs attached to your rock? If so, those are sponges, and are a good sign, and will do no harm. They actually are little filters for your water, straining out suspended particles. No worries, they are fine. If those are not what you were referring to, let me know. Thanks!

:iagree:

cool got a little worryed because they do look similar to

what about the green lookin seaweed trees? any uses for them? it kinda looks like a stem with some green leaves on it its wierd when i had my butterfly fish b4 my tang killed him he usta nip at them

Seaweed trees? LOL, well not quite. The pictures are pretty blurry but from what I can see, it appears to be one of many species of Caulerpa, a siphonous green alga, found in Caribbean waters (Coming into your tank on your live rock - which came from those waters). Despite its simple internal form, it almost looks like a higher plant. It has frond-like assimilators for photosynthesis, a basal runner by which it spreads and rhizoids which fix it to the substratum. It is generally not considered a pest algae, and can be trimmed back easily, or pulled from rock in sections, which is why this is one form of algae which hobbyists have frequently allowed to co-exists in their tanks. They are not readily consumable by your mass variety of common home aquarium residents so do not expect your fish/inverts to keep it in check.
