i gave my JD to my dad and before i got the angels i have now, i borrowed my cousins GT from his 125 and put him in my 55 for a short time.

From my experience, when a GT has a gut that looks like that, he's in trouble. Might have the infamous "wasting away" disease. Does he have the white stringy poo?

i borrowed it cus i didnt have any fish other than the tetra at the time, we live together so i just brought it upstairs. and no i haven't seen any white poop

I would treat it for parasites also, his stomach doesn't look very good at all...

i believe that you should avoid moving fish from tank to tank like that

get some Myaxzazin whitespot and parasite treatment or any other parasite treatment, or you could borrow a UV sterilizer from someone? both of those would treat any internal parasite that may be there

He could just be in serious need of a good few meals. Either parasites or badly starved. Either way that is not normal.

Is it a new purchase for your cousin?

I would treat for parasites anyway whilst feeding well, your cousins tank too as they do not take long to spread in a full tank. Will be a cracking fish once it has beefed up a bit and relaxed in its permanent home.
