It's been a long time since I have been on here. I have had my 100gal for 4 years now. I only have a uaru and a Severum both males. They are both older fish both are almost 5 years old and both are a solid 8" . Other tank mates are 4 silver dollars "5 each, 2 pictus cats "6, a buffalo head cichlid , and delhezi.

I would like to find the pictus cats new homes but I have had them for so long and get weird about letting my pets go.

Anyways the problem is my uaru. I know they are said to be kept in groups he had a mate but she passed a way a year ago. I would love to find him a home where he was with other uarus in a 200+gal tank. But he is kind of a big fish to ship I have only shipped bettas. He would be free to good home just pay shipping.

My uaur has been picking on my green Severum Nip is his name and I love this fish. My uaru also likes to chase the silver dollars but they don't care. The uarus bossiness has gotten worst over the year they use to be perfect together. Now the uaru is running the tank and my poor Nip lives in fear. Nip developed HITH and was looking so stressed out. He was going to die if I kept him in there. He was afraid to swim around. I have him now in his own hospital tank. He is doing great in the hospital tank the HITH is clearing up and he is active and looking good.

I am afraid that when I do put nip back in he will get harassed and not do well. What should I do? Should I find my uaru a new home? They lived so well together up until now. I was thinking of getting another cichlid. I have been playing with the idea of getting an unwanted oscar. Maybe I just need another big fish so that not just nip gets picked on?

So what do you think I should do to make Nip happy. I think getting rid of the uaru would make him the happiest. But maybe not her Severum? Any ideas.
