both setups good?

looking for input on if these setups would work well or not, they should, but i like a second opinion. both are in 180g tanks.

#1 sounds good, except if it were me the oscar would not be veiltail

knifefish nipping? or personal preference? which i am open to btw...

Just personal preference, I think it takes away from an oscar's overall appearance and "power". The oscar might nip the knife regardless of what variety of oscar, but I've seen people mix them a lot

yeah. plus i figured the knifefish will be in hiding alot, as they usually are.
