Sorry if I misspelt the name I have 2 of these guys just over an inch, is care the same as a clown. Also can I house clowns with them. Do they also have the same tusks that clowns do. Cheers

got any pics? botia is part of the species/classification name and applies to many loaches. botia striata for example. clown loach is botia macracanthus. there should be another part to the name, or a common name. if you give a bit more info someone will be able to help :)
 
Those are red tailed botias they have an aggressive temperament and yes all botias have sub ocular spines. Like most other loaches these guys do need a group to disperse the aggression between individuals. Though aggression is not as bad as skunk botias.

I suggest getting at least one or two more. Two is not a good number as the weaker one will always run for its life. If you get a couple more and have enough hiding places, the aggression will be spread.

They may have a similar body type as clowns, but they are way more aggressive.
