bottlefilter should i put a cap on?

I got so many extra air stones with pumps decided we cant have too much filteration?


SO i made some bottle filters but should the cap be on this forces everythign out?

Your fine but I would change it a bit and put ceramic rings in if you are going for bio. If you are going for mechanical you are fine tho

No, do not put a cap on it! The air flowing up through the media causes water to be sucked through the neck of the bottle and create a flow through the media. Putting a cap on the bottle will defeat this flow and greatly reduce the effectiveness of the filter.
