I have a 55 gallon with SA/CA cichlids in it. I want to get a bottom-dwelling fish that eats algae for it. Im looking for something that isnt expensive (not over 10 dollars) and could fit in the 55 for a while. I also have a 20 gallon with a convict and a goldfish in it. What could I possibly buy for that tank. If anyone doesnt know of any bottom-dwellers that eat algae suggest some non algae eating ones because I need some bottom-dwellers because my tanks are bare in that department thanks.

I havent been able to find a bristlenose pleco anywhere around here, I was thinking (if i can find one) buying a bristlenose pleco and three pictus cats for the 55 and a bristlenose pleco and 3 more cories for my 20 gallon.

About 1 to 2 years depending on size of purchase. Clown loaches are VERY slow growers about 1" a year if that.

mabye a pleco in the 20 not much room left in there for the 50 3-4 pictus cats would work clown loaches grow slow you could have them in there for about 5 years if you bought them small

And despite that, a bigger tank should be set in store for them.

A convict and a goldfish is already pushing the limits. Both should not be kept together. Goldfish are coldwater fish and are best kept in a larger tank. A convict, on the other hand, is a tropical species and being belligerent by nature, never keep them in with other fish in smaller tanks, strictly not even goldfish.

No more fish in the 20 other than scraping the algae by yourself. It's pretty much occupied and until then, the goldfish should actually be separated.:)

Pictus catfish hardly has its mouth function enabling it to eat algae. The OP was asking for algae-eating bottom dwellers.
