What bottom dweller would go well with my 2 green sunfish in a 55 gallon. Also I have plants in the tank so would a baby channel cat uproot them

The Channel would grow way too large for the tank, as I'm currently keeping a 16" Channel in my 150-Gallon. Kept in a 60-Gallon for some time around 6-7", which led to deformation, which seems to have corrected itself over time after being able to grow in a large space.
I'm currently keeping a Black Bullhead at about 4" in my 55-Gallon Native tank with a Green Sunfish and a few others, with one at about 10" in the 150-Gallon as well.

if you want a native, one of the various bullheads would be fine with two greenies, if you can find them stonecats would also work out

I would go with a stone cat, better known by me as madtoms. You can find them in decent size slower moving streams. Living under rocks.. I have only found a few, they are tough to catch.

Stonecat would be your best bet. Any of the larger madtoms should work, a big logperch should be ok as well if you have enough hiding spots for it.
