im fixing to get my fish for my 55g tank. im planning on 2 salvini. could i add some sort of bottom dweller? i'd be too afraid to get cories and im not a big fan of plecos. would a rapheal cat work?

how bout some big clown loaches, a botia modesta, or some small catfish like the sun catfish.

not much if they breed they can be very aggressive when breeding but try pictus, rapheal, or a syno

I would never recommend clown loaches to be kept with aggressive cichlids. Yasuhikotakia modesta and loaches of Syncrossus genus perhaps will do better.

My other suggestions are doradids, synos and plecos.:)

I had my raphael in with my cichlids and they never bothered him. I gave him a place to hide anyway though...he is seldom seen. I have a chocolate pleco in with them also and they don't bother him at all either.

Pictus does seem like a good choice.. a raphael could work and it is true.. you might never see it, the raphael

Maybe some CL's I have bumble bee's in with my african's they stay hidden most of the time but they're getting along fine.:headbang2

I had a modesta kick a Salvini out of his cave once. Awesome tough loach.
