Hey just wondering what bottom dwellers would go well in my 72x18 footprint tank and come from the same regions and rivers that oscars, gt's and other cichlids call home. thanks

I'm not sure what you have in your tank but I have two GTs and a JD for my main aggressive fish. My bottom dwellers are normal Corys and Emerald Corys. No one has been murdered and I have had them for quite some time now. I also have silver dollars as calming fish and so that may help.

i plan on having having a male gt, maybe an oscar, but thats it. i wanna do sort of like a bio type if i can

If you go with the GT you could totally do some corys or pictus. However if you go with the Oscar you will need larger bottom dwellers otherwise the O will just eat them.

well, i like the synodontis alot but i was trying to stay with some from the same area. i know a lima would be fine, is that lookin like my only option?

I would go with some of the smaller shovelnose species like the lima, or some larger pims like IMO i use to keep 2-3 four lined pims with my CA and SA cichlids they grew to about 6-8" which were perfect. They were too big to eat and not big enough to draw attention to themselves.

This Oscar would be bad for the Corys. While Oscars are great fish, they are super messy.

I enjoy my 'cats'. They help keep the bottom clean of extra food, are cool to watch as they school around and are just cool fish.
