Hello everyone,
I have just purchased a new Polypterus. They were advertised as weather loaches at the pet store...I used to work at a petstore and I knew that these were not loaches. I looked closer and they were actually polypterus. See my problem is that I do not know much about these fish, all I know that they get fairly big and are jumpers. We used to have a few of the ornatipinnis at the store I worked at and they were about a foot long.
My problem is that I have no idea which one mine is. I checked the thread about visual reference and judging from the pictures mine is most likely the
"Polypterus retropinnis" I cannot find much info about them online and I am not sure how big they get. Mine is about 3.5" right now and is in a 20 gal tank. I am planning on getting a bigger tank once the guy grows up.
I will try and post a picture when I get home.
Thank You and any help is much appreciated.
