i was going to get a chellenger but...

got a text yesterday at 2:30am that my buddy needed help. i call him and he tells me hes in Chino and his jeep he just bought is stuck in mud past the axle and the Bronco cant pull him out. so i jump in my Grandpas 1500 Z71 and head out there. 45 mins later im following the bronco down a trail and into a runoff area where i see this jeep stuck in the mud with a jack under the rear end. we get it jacked up and push the rear wheel onto "hard" mud but it doesnt help at all. so i hook up to the front of the jeep, put the chevy in 4Low and pull it out. thats when i realized the truck was now covered in mud and its 4:30am... it hit me then i need my own truck i can take at anytime and beat the hell out of instead of always borrowing my grandpas Chevy enerytime i want to do some wheeling.
so i went to the auto mall in Claremont. hit up toyota, looked at the tacomas and tundras ended up testing an FJ Cruiser... long story short.
heres my new ride.

Nice man!!! FJs are sweet. I think you would have had a blast in the charger though.

Either way, both are a blast.
I have Magnum and I can't think of anything that is sportier with as much utility as it has (it pulls my boat all over with ease).

I'm just mentioning the magnum since it's on the same platform as the charger lol. I've always loved the FJs though.

ya, it was a hard decision. but i think the FJ will come in use more on the east coast than the challenger

I miss my ZJ Jeep like crazy!! I live in mud bog/off road central so I know it kicks ass to have something to get away from the tarmac.

I also loved the curving roads that I could find and I was quite surprised that a vehicle that could pull a boat could handle the curves so well.

In any event, congrats on the new vehicle!

FJ's are badass! Congrats! One of the most potent offroaders out there, and they get good mileage. I was going to get one, and only wanted a base, auto/4wd $23k, but the dealer here said they could not order them as they were not available in this region of the US. So I took the bs story as they didn't want the sale (there were very few available at the time, all $28k+, I know he was trying to bump me), and got a 2wd 2000 4Runner instead. Not as much fun, but it saved me tons of money. The FJ's have quite a few cool ass options too.

ya, base was 28k then with the discounts and military it went down to 25k... then after license taxes and other bs it was 28k lol
