Bought as a red texas wondering if someone could confirm

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Looks like a regular texas to me, the red should have more spankles and flower markings on them. But it could be the white sand that has muted his or her colors.

Could be a red texas but the eyes are a little dark for a red texas usually their eyes are gold or white after fade at the darkest but looks like he might get red eyes and no a red texas won't have a flowerline as it is not related to a flowerhorn it might have stripes and blotches or even a syn half line made of blothes stretching a third of the body towards the caudal fin and it will get more pearls as it gets older but you won't really know what you have till it gets older and starts to take better shape and fade

Thanks for all the replies guys. He's definitely mean enough to be a flowerhorn! I have my blue panaques with him right now and he is not a fan.

One last question, would this guy look best with white sand, black sand, or bare bottom?
