bought my first gar yesterday

i bought my first gar yesterday. do not know what kind it is. i havn't found any pics in this forum that match what he looks like. i will try my best to describe him. it is silver in color with faint spots throughtout the body. it has 2 stripes of silver/gray or light baby blue running down its back. what do you think? has this description clicked in anybodies head. i will try to get a digital camera and take some pics this week. hopefully i can keep it alive long enough since it is my first one. any tips would be appreciated. thanks.

i just got a hold of a digi camera will take pics tonight. in the mean time i need info about husbandry on gars (temps, ph, etc.) thanks.

Kinda sounds like a needle nose gar to me. They are true gars though, they only get to about 12"
