So, I made a call on a Craigslist seller and picked up a 125 with stand for 200 bucks. Came with lights and a hood, too. Also came with two Emperor 350b filters, but hopefully going to change that out.

Now onto the fun part

How should I scape it? I have two large pieces of driftwood that I'd like to incorporate. Also, perhaps sand as a substrate?

And what should I place in here? I want some heavy hitters, as I'm planning on moving my Paratilapia Poll. in there as well.

Lastly, recommended filtration?

Check out my 125 gallon in my signature... still in progress, but mostly complete.

I run an fx5 on it, it will eventually run an additional xp3 I have and two hydor Vs.

What do you WANT to stock it with? ;)

I'd do either SA amazon or Malawi. Some geos, acaras and sevs with a pleco and silver dollars would be sweet, I did it with my 5' 120g and I'm loving it :)

Also, is it the 6 foot long 125?

Looks to be. I haven't measured the dimensions quite yet.

I was thinking of moving my Paratilapia and my Poly into it, and possibly getting a few big SA/CA cichlids. Perhaps some Jags, some JD's, and a Salvini and then having some fast cheap schooling fish, like Giant Danios or even silver dollars.

I was also thinking of making the tank split level. Like, the substrate in the back is higher than the substrate in the front, so it makes sort of like a drop off effect and the front is like a little canyon with rock caves in the wall. Any idea how I could accomplish this?

Do like my 70. Large L-114 pleco and 6 wide bar silver dollars. The dollars are not dithers but the main attraction because they are so cool. I wouldn't let a cichlid in this tank. lol

Some ideas:

An artificial rockwall...

And for your filter:

simplest, cheapest, wet/dry ever
