Last week I went to an estate auction. Everything was for sale including the house as the former resident died at the age of 91. There were tons of antiques, tools etc. I wound up spending over $800 and wished that I had more $ on me to keep buying. There was so much stuff for sale that the auction went on for three days. Day one I bought a 5g slate bottom meta-frame tank (couldn't resist that of course). It came with two old box filters, a bizarre looking sponge filter, the noisiest air pump I've ever heard and a REALLY old container of fish food. Original price 10 cents. I opened it up and found some delicious crystalized tapioca flour/cornstarch inside. YUM!! Check out the kewl graphics.

A friend of mine collects antique aquariums and old fish stuff in general. He has a large collection of some really old fish food tins. Some of them are really cool and very collectible!

I collect old aquarium stuff too but this is the first vintage 'food find' for me ever. I have eight meta-frame tanks now. The lights that go with them are pricey nowadays. I tried to get a 30" stainless steel incandescent strip light for a 29g on ebay and lost out to someone who was willing to pay $70 + shipping for it.

Very cool! Yes, any other pics?

I love those old slate bottom tanks they were great in an emergency
