How much should an acrylic tank bow in the front?? I filled my 300 I got off ebay today and it when I put a level on the front it bow 1/2 at the center compared to the top and bottom. The acrylic is 1/2" thick not sure if any of you know how thick yours is but I would appreciate any info anyone would have fromt heir tanks.

Hard to say, but all of my acrylics bow a little bit. 1/2" is probably not unheard of.

I will be receiving a new tank next week. It is 96X36X36 acrylic, 1 inch thick on all sides and top, 3/4 inch thick on the bottom. I was told by the manufacturer that it would bow approximately 3/16 of an inch.

How much of a bow depends on how thick the acrylic is and how long the panels are. Just as an example, the same manufacture told me that a 120X36X36, 1 inch thick on all sides and top with 3/4 inch thick on bottom would bow 5/16 on an inch.

These are numbers from the manufacturer and are not what I have experienced as I don't have the tank set up yet. I hope that what I was told is true.

My 225 bows a little less than 1/2" because it is 30" high. Height & acylic thickness is the most important facters in how much a tank will bow. I personally will never buy a tank over 24" high again that is 1/2". I think what you experiencing is not all to uncommon, most people just won't say anything because they don't want to get flamed.
Just make sure you stand is 100% level and when doing w/c's, remember that smaller more frequent changes will take allot of stress off of where panels join. You want to avoid stress cracks.
