bowfin and aro compatibility

i currently have a 4inch green aro, can i add a bowfin? would d combo be a success or a flop? the tank is 4x2x18inch..

but ive seen people do the bowfin silver combo but u have to remember each fish is differnt

My 10" Green murderized my bowfin of the same size...depends on the fish.
