Your going to have to do some of your own experimenting. Some combs that work for some people arn't going to work for you. Start with fish that are to big for the bowfin to eat and fish that are to small to eat the bowfin and narrow it down from there. More rounded or disk like fish like buttikoferi and big cons will work for fish the bowfin won't eat, but I am giving you no guarantees those fish are also very aggressive. I have a friendly buttikoferi that would be compatible, but other people have ones with terrible attitudes it all depends on the fish. Look at some of fish Fishguts has in with his bowfin. Of course then he would eat them. I've seen bowfin attack fish larger than themselves in the wild while scuba diving, of course they were protecting thier young but I'm sure they don't need that excuss
