Anyone been catching any good 'fins? Heat of the summer is a good time to get them. Lets see some pics and also what set up you had and bait.

I'm planning on going on a day-trip either this weekend or next about two hours away from where I am. Oswego River, NY supposedly has a few Bowfin hotspots and I plan on fishing sun-up to sun-down until I catch a big one for the 500g.

Will report back afterwards. Even if I don't nail a bowfin it should be good fishing. Maybe I'll land a longnose gar thats made its way down out of Lake Ontario.

I am trying again this weekend as well. Keep us posted!

Madding where are you from in Ny I live in Syracuse and use to go bowfin fishing all the time. I did however join the military so I'm gone but I can give you some hot spots where it's all around good fishing and a couple where there are tremendous amounts of fin.
