Bowfin questions

How aggressive are bowfins compared to snakeheads? Are they even kept in aquariums? If so, how big of a tank would they need? And could they be kept with sunfish, catfish, pickerels, eels, or anything else native?

I have only kept small bowfin in a 70 gallon for the past year. They grew from 2" to 7" in that time. I have never noticed aggressive behavior from them and I kept them with a small mosquitofish for a long time. They can be kept with most natives as long as they can't fit in their mouth I suppose. You need a huge tank because they get 43". I know people who have kept a 1.5' in a 1500 gallon with gars, bullheads, sunfish, and bass without a problem.
