what do u mean. they both can live in 75 to 80 degree water . water parameters wouldnt matter at all as far as mixing them. im wondering how aggressive is the bowfin and worried he may attack payaras.
Temperatures don't justify water parameters being equal. If you take a look at a payaras natural habitat you will see by no means is it similiar to a bowfins.
I wouldnt do it. The only tropical fish I would put my bowfin in with would be some catfish. Anyways the bowfin will outgrow those fish nd outpace them in growing also eating too.
I think its a bad idea to mix most tropicals and natives. They are both susceptible to different diseases and tropicals in many cases are more aggressive. I personally wouldnt do it, but the final decision is up to you.
