Blaming carp for mudding the water....nice. Are they not allowed to do that? Is it because you want the water to look pretty for the time that you are there? You think carp are the only fish doing this? You don’t possibly think something else maybe causing this? Don’t take your issues out on carp just because you have anissue with them. This is what carp do, the eat, etc. Bluegill stir up the water when the breed making holes all over the lake bed...catfish make holes or takeover holes of animals in the river, the make rock pilings unstable because they want to nest inside those rocks..You want to just kill them as well?

If you want to take your problems out on a fish, head for the Asian carp. Not that what anyone is doing will help out because the fish are uncontrollable for the time being but I’m sure you will be happy.

I don’t understand peoples mind sets sometimes, it’s like they just don’t think. They just want to do. Or it’s cool.

If you are trying to get rid of carp because they are overpopulated in a lake, then fish management is necessary, just as it is in animals. Do is responsibly. But not because the make the water muddy or whatever reason you want to pin down on them. You will NEVER, let me repeat myself, NEVER be able to control what carp do in the water nor will you be able to eradicate them unless of course you wipe out all the fish. If you can’t handle the responsibly of an outdoorsmen to properly dispose of it, then don’t do it!

So you slit their stomachs and toss them back into the “muddy” water? You don’t think that fish is going to float back to the top for some other fishermen to see and smell in that muddy water? You think that’s a great thing to see when fishing? Hot or cold water doesn’t always make a difference in the fish floating or sinking. I have seen plenty of fish float and sink in both water conditions. And don’t usethe excuse that other fish will eat them, you know that for a fact? You don’t think possible a bird may eat it? Or end up on the bank? Or have the wind blow it allthe way to the other end of the lake into a cove where it just rots?

I’m not a bowfisherman, I don’t have any reason too as of yet. I don’t oppose to it since it is legal but have no interest in it but that doesn’t mean I don’t take notice as a regular fisherman on how some, not all, but some, and since there are a bunch of bow fishermen, that some turns out to be a lot as well, on how most of them dispose of their kill. I know there isn’t a bow fishermen on any forum onthe internet that doesn’t do this ( they are full of it ), but they mostlydispose of them on the bank because it’s a hassle to haul them away. I sure asheck don’t want to haul 30-60lb Asian carp up to my truck, especially if I have killed a bunch. So it’s much easier to let them lay on the bank, besides, it doesn’t smell right now, the flies are not attacking it yet, tomorrow I won’t be here so I will leave it for someone else to take care of. I don’t know why the DFW ofeach state doesn’t have strict laws against this, makes no sense.

But do as you wish so they make the water muddy and you hate them.

damn dude ur ignorant as hell

they have been here for hundreds of years. They are as good as natives at this point. They also provide a great opportunity to anglers to catch large fish that put up a fight that no other fresh water fish can rival at times. Bowfish all you want, because you are allowed to do so, but dont come up with silly excuses. You are killing a fish for no reason.

Carp is my favorite fish to catch, expecially Grass Carp, they get huge. It hasnt been caught yet but Im sure there is one out there tipping the 100lb mark, the world record is I think 89lbs or some where around there. They put up a heck up a fight. The fight so well that I concentrate on them a lot, I learned how to catch them thru trial and error which is why I hold the World Line Class Record for Grass Carp on 2lb test, along with 5 State Line Class Records for other fish. It may not mean anything to you but it doesnt to me.

To me, I think a lot of people bow fish because they just cant catch them. I know its not everyone but when I do see these guys with their bow kill, I have yet to see them catch many carp or gar on line, if any and most of the time they never have. Its much easier to slowly come up on them in a boat, blind them and stick them. Then who knows how many are out there with a stick hanging from them because you made a bad shot. Mainly people bowfish for carp, gar and cats. Well if you frequent fishing boards, you will see how many questions arise on how to catch a carp, or harder yet the grass carp, and even harder than the grass carp, the gar. In europe they treasure the carp just was the US mainly treasure the bass.

Now Im so softy, peta member, etc. but when I come across a thread like this, its hard not to reply to someone that absolutely doesnt know what they are talking about and doesnt have any respect. I can only imagine what else you do just because you dont like them.

Ok master bator I shoot from a bank with no lights and stAlk them I use a reel with 250 pound deacon line so they don't get Away and I used to be a carp fisherman befor the took over my creek. Now their are no bass no catfish no bluegill perch
