Blaming carp for mudding the water....nice. Are they not allowed to do that? Is it because you want the water to look pretty for the time that you are there? You think carp are the only fish doing this? You dont possibly think something else maybe causing this? Dont take your issues out on carp just because you have anissue with them. This is what carp do, the eat, etc. Bluegill stir up the water when the breed making holes all over the lake bed...catfish make holes or takeover holes of animals in the river, the make rock pilings unstable because they want to nest inside those rocks..You want to just kill them as well?
If you want to take your problems out on a fish, head for the Asian carp. Not that what anyone is doing will help out because the fish are uncontrollable for the time being but Im sure you will be happy.
I dont understand peoples mind sets sometimes, its like they just dont think. They just want to do. Or its cool.
If you are trying to get rid of carp because they are overpopulated in a lake, then fish management is necessary, just as it is in animals. Do is responsibly. But not because the make the water muddy or whatever reason you want to pin down on them. You will NEVER, let me repeat myself, NEVER be able to control what carp do in the water nor will you be able to eradicate them unless of course you wipe out all the fish. If you cant handle the responsibly of an outdoorsmen to properly dispose of it, then dont do it!
So you slit their stomachs and toss them back into the muddy water? You dont think that fish is going to float back to the top for some other fishermen to see and smell in that muddy water? You think thats a great thing to see when fishing? Hot or cold water doesnt always make a difference in the fish floating or sinking. I have seen plenty of fish float and sink in both water conditions. And dont usethe excuse that other fish will eat them, you know that for a fact? You dont think possible a bird may eat it? Or end up on the bank? Or have the wind blow it allthe way to the other end of the lake into a cove where it just rots?
Im not a bowfisherman, I dont have any reason too as of yet. I dont oppose to it since it is legal but have no interest in it but that doesnt mean I dont take notice as a regular fisherman on how some, not all, but some, and since there are a bunch of bow fishermen, that some turns out to be a lot as well, on how most of them dispose of their kill. I know there isnt a bow fishermen on any forum onthe internet that doesnt do this ( they are full of it ), but they mostlydispose of them on the bank because its a hassle to haul them away. I sure asheck dont want to haul 30-60lb Asian carp up to my truck, especially if I have killed a bunch. So its much easier to let them lay on the bank, besides, it doesnt smell right now, the flies are not attacking it yet, tomorrow I wont be here so I will leave it for someone else to take care of. I dont know why the DFW ofeach state doesnt have strict laws against this, makes no sense.
But do as you wish so they make the water muddy and you hate them.
