I have a 46 gallon bowfront and was just noticing that the front glass is much thinner than the rest of the glass, how does that work, or why do they do it?
I don't know the exact reason but my guess would be that the sides are plate glass and the front is tempered since it had to be heated when bent. Tempered is a lot stronger than plate.
