I got a 280 gallon acrylic tank. Great fine and dandy, was told I only needed to reseal a seam as it had burst and leaked. So I did. Sealed like a dream and no issues, however, I noticed the top no longer met. It was as if the epoxy had gone soft again and let it shift. I didn't think anything of it as it wasn't the seal I was concerned with and it was still sealed. Well, when I filled it up again last night, the top let go a little and the front bows! I clamped it back so it wouldn't split my new seal job, but now I get the fun task of figuring out how to readjust that top piece! :nilly: Any ideas? I was thinking of ignoring it altogether, and just running a metal band around the top til I could get it possibly reshaped and reattached! I kinda need to do this cheaply as a quick fix til I really can go in and have it fixed. : / Any ideas would be truly appreciated.
Thanks!

Could you post a pic? If you are capable enough to reseal the acrylic, then you should be able to add in an acrylic support brace rather easily.

We finally ripped the top off of the tank. the problem was that a small portion had cracked and we couldn't see it until we had removed it. currently it's being wrapped with a few tow straps and a couple clamps. We'll end up re bonding the top in the next few days. I can't believe we couldn't see it. Thank you for the link on building acrylic tanks. We were using something close, but to reattach the top, I think we'll use this guys idea. I'll post pictures when I find my sad little camera. Thanks guys!
